Meet The Team

Rebecca Jackson – Owner

Owner of The Dance House Academy, Rebecca is a previous professional British Finalist and International Semi-Finalist. She is originally started dancing in Shropshire at a local dance school when she was 4 years old, this happened as a complete accident as she was just there to pick up her cousin with her mum, but when her feet touched the floor they just couldn’t get her off. Fast forward a few years and after undertaking medallist competitions Rebecca got her first open competitive partner, with her then partner she became juvenile British Finalists and United Kingdom closed Finalists. She continued to be a regular Junior and Youth semi Finalist and finalist at the national competitions. Spending summers in Latvia, Lithuania and Poland at Dance camps and training with her partners teachers she saw another side to Ballroom and Latin dancing and training that she had not previously seen in England. She continued dancing into her adult career where she specialised in Ballroom. She became winner of the British Dance Federation Star Championships, Pre National Trophy, Yorkshire Open, East midlands championship and became a British National Finalist. She then retired from competing to concentrate on teaching which is her first love and Passion.

Amanda Trotman – Teaching assistant

Amanda started dancing in the mid 80’s in Hendon, London and continued until 1993. She absolutely loved dancing and quickly started taking medals in Ballroom & Latin. She took and passed all of the I.S.D.T dance medals from individual “one dance” tests all the way up to Gold Star 3. She then took the Josephine Bradley Award, Supreme Award & the Alex Moore Award, passing all with Honours. She competed in a few competitions, but unfortunately had to stop dancing when she bought her first house, but always dreamt of getting back into dancing once again. Fast forward 21 years and a leaflet was put through her front door, this leaflet announced The Dance House Academy was starting in Chiseldon village hall. Amanda jumped at the chance and was first through the doors for dance lessons. Amanda is now a well loved and valued member of the team and is a regular helper on all our classes.
